Another important notice that has to be made is concerning the voyage number:

In our example, ALLISE P has voyage MD3713W, MD3 showing the service name,

7 showing the year (2017), 13 showing the week the rotation started (week 13)

and W showing the direction of the rotation (from Asia to Mediterranean thus West).

**Of course, this can differ from service to service, do not take that as a rule of thumb**

Thus, in a long term schedule we will find the entire rotation of a vessel for the next months.

You may notice that voyages are increasing by one, showing that
every week a vessel calls every POL:

So, as per above, Piraeus port will be serviced in week 13 (03/05) by ALLISE P, in week 14 (10/5) by SEASPAN THAMES etc.
However, it may happen that for a week there will be no service, the so-called “Blank Sailing” .
